Below are listed the relative hardness for the wood species used in Award Hardwood Flooring Collections. These ratings were determined using the Janka Hardness Test. The higher the number the harder the wood. This should be used as a general guide when comparing various wood species used in our floors. Hardness ratings will vary from when and where a tree was obtained. The plank construction and finish play an extremely important role in the durability and ease of maintenance of any wood floor.
